Bright Promise

Deep Peace of the
Christ-lit night to you!
When all is darkest,
the Bethlehem Star
beams from afar;
beyond all material worlds;
sparking Hope within the soul;
the Bright Promise of the One
Who was, and is, and is to come,
and is The Very Solstice Sun;
Always and Again reborn
upon the weariest winter morn.
The Child of Unfailing Love;
to rule with Wisdom
far above any mortal thought;
by Tenderest Mother taught
Unrelenting Mercy as the Only Way
through dead of night to Life,
to Light, to Love’s Eternal Day.
