I Am Still Her

I Am Still Her;
still the girl cowering
in the corner;
bowing, then
opening to
the Angel’s Light

I Am Still Her;
still the weary one
journeying toward
the unknown
Silent Night

I Am Still Her;
still the new
Mother; reborn
with sweat
and trembling
amidst animals’
pure empathy

I Am Still Her;
This One you elevate
and clothe with roses;
This One of Myth and Mystery

Remember…

I Am Still Her;
still cowering,
weary, sweating,
and trembling

So when you
see Me on the street,
be as noble as the animals,
then elevate Me
and clothe Me with roses

I Am Still Her
And She Is Me.
