Cup of Joy

I offer this Cup
for the soul of the world
It is all that I have
It is more than I am
Radiant Receptacle
of amniotic tears
The Seas rage
in thrashing, crashing
rhythmic weeping and keening
They know, they know.

I offer this Cup
for the soul of the world
It is all that I have
It is more than I am
Pool of Passion
Who has kissed my lips,
pursed with pain?
Who has planted this seed of sweetness?
Who will turn my mourning to dancing?

I offer this Cup
for the soul of the world
It is all that I have
It is more than I am
Womb of Gold, bejeweled
The Babe leaps for joy
even as Pietà is sculpted
behind my sorrowful eyes
I see All of Life
through the colors of His Death

I offer this Cup
for the soul of the world
It is all that I have
It is more than I am
Wellspring of Wisdom
wash over my being
and I will dream through the night,
eyes closed,
soft cheek resting
on my Beloved’s milky feet

I offer this Cup
for the soul of the world
It is all that I have
It is more than I am
Fountain of Faith
Come close!
Drink Him in!
Be drenched,
be quenched
with Love Everlasting!

Chalice of Lifeblood
sweet and warm
pumping the Heart of the Universe
Flowing through us
and from us
Giving us Life

Darkness made Light
Death birthing Life
All That I have
More than I am
I give you my Heart
